It started with a bad sponge.
A few years ago, I bought yet another pack of sponges — the kind that smells after a week, falls apart by day ten, and somehow scratches the very pan it promised to protect. I remember standing at the sink thinking: it's a sponge. How hard can it be?
Turns out: pretty hard. I got obsessed — with cellulose density, with how a sponge foams, rinses, dries, and ages. I started making my own, testing batch after batch for absorbency, scrub power, and how many washes it survives. My kitchen turned into a lab. My family became very patient testers.
